My First Mini

I sprang a Valentine's Day Mini Session on folks just a week before having it--wasn't the best idea I've ever had, but I still had a few people come (mostly family- LOVE yall!). It was yet another valuable learning experience that I am thankful to have had. I'm still trying to decide if I want to do a Spring mini--I better make up my mind soon!
The setup was so simple. I had two props (other than the little props on sticks): an old quilt and a bunting flag banner that I made. The evening before I begged my husband to let me test it out on him and our daughter; that's them in the first picture.

Once Upon a Wedding

Two years ago I shot a wedding for family--it was a first for me and the only one I have done so far. I wish so badly I could go back in time and take my new knowledge with me. Back then I kinda knew how to use my camera and I thought the kit lens would do just fine. I did the best I could with what equipment I had to work with and thankfully it wasn't a disaster and they were happy with the results....and thankfully they are easy to please--love you Chris & Skylar and thank you for giving me my first taste at the wonderful chaos it is to photograph a wedding.

Right now I have two weddings booked and the possibility of a few more. I have new lenses to use and they are fabulous! If only I would have had them back then...sigh.

Here are a few of my favorites from their big day.

Shelbi [Senior 2014]

My first ever Senior session couldn't have been a better one. I get nervous before shoots because I'm new at doing this for the public and I want to do a good job. Shelbi and her mom were so sweet and easy to work with--plus she is a natural--she did not take one bad picture.
